Did anyone watch Tin Man (miniseries) last night on SciFi?

What did you think of it?

I liked it.

It was better than I feared, but I kept wondering what Baum would have thought about the changes made to his series of books: he probably would have had as much trouble with the film version most people are familiar with as with the new mini-series. I also kept thinking that some version of his Tick-Tock character might show up, and I'm still not ruling that out, although it is more likely that the mini-series will stick mainly with characters who have counterparts in the 1939 film.

Since there are only three parts, I'll probably make an effort to see the other two episodes, since I'm sure the Sci-Fi channel will show all three episodes repeatedly.

A science fiction version of "The Wizard of Oz" in which Dorothy gets sucked into an alternate dimension called the "Outer Zone" where the law enforcement officers are called the Tin Men. On her search for the way home, she gets help from three familiar characters. Among them is a cowardly, wolverine-like animal without a backbone, a wicked sorceress named Azkadellia and a wizard known as the Mystic Man.

I liked it. I think it's cool that they did a remake of the Wizard Of Oz. I think it is a cross between Wizard of Oz and the Lord Of The Rings. It's a cool miniseries. I'm gonna watch the new episode tonight and all the other nights its on.

Zooey Deschanel is luminous as usual. I find the rewriting of the characters to be interesting. It just bugs me that it is titled "Tin Man" but the Tin Man does not figure prominently nor is the story from his point of view. For some reason that just bugs me to no end. I'll watch the final episode tonight.
It's fascinating but it lacks the heart of the book and the early movie.

Hi, I liked it. The story line is good and the idea is good but I dont like the acting, Zooey Deschanal is not like her sister. Zooey(DG) Shows no emotion. She is about to die and just sits there saying: oh ok well I am going to die.

The acting could use some work. But the story line is really good.

DG is the worst actress on the show.. she is a ridiculous script reader rather than really getting into the character and making DG her OWN character. She's terrible. The show is alright, very different than the Wizard of Oz, but its just ok.

I have seen the first and second episode and really enjoy it so far. I will probably get attacked for this but it is more interesting than The Wizard of Oz in my opinion. I can't wait for the final episode to come on tonight.

I liked it. Obviously it's not a remake. Just has things based on the original stuff. But my husband and I both enjoyed it. :) Although DG's acting could have been a bit better. lol

How could anyone hate this series?! I think it's great and something different!
I was happy to see a nice twist on good ole OZ.
I was just as thrilled when Gregory Maguire wrote "Wicked."
I love spins on old classics...
