Has anyone heard who they would have to give up? I'm guessing it would include Adam Jones and/or Jeff Clement plus more...

I heard this on ESPN from Steve Phillips.

I heard that today as well, they are going to jump in on all the big deals it seems like. It would be a great deal for the mariners but I am not sure that they wil get the deal done without giving up too much of the future, the Sox and yankees seem set on sending more of their potential than anyone else is willing to part with. I like to hear other teams pushing for deals though!

i imagine it change right into a straightforward flow for the Mariners. Seattle is in want of quickly base runner to boot Ichiro and yet another gold glove defender. Ms third base has been an problem with Adrian Beltre putting out 111 video games with in basic terms 8 HRs and 40 4 RBI. With clean up spots convalescing nicely with Russell Branyan and Franklin Gutierrez, it is going to advance up run nicely with Figgins in line up who change into 2d in AL with runs very last season and has .388 OBP occupation Avg. As a Mariners Season ticker holder, i will get excitement from gazing Figgins on Seattle' side each pastime for upcoming season. I basically wish he does no longer recieve Mariners curse.

All I've heard is the Twins want what the Mariners want to keep. I wouldn't bank on this trade happening because I would expect Santana to exercise his no trade clause if something was put in place. Let's not forget the team that lands him will have to deal with his contract extension or new contract demands similar to or exceeding the one the Giants gave Barry Zito.

I saw that on the M's website too. It was AJ + Jeff Clement + Brandon Morrow.

I'm sure Johan would've vetoed a trade to the M's :{
Plus i read that he only wants to be traded to either the Yankees or Red Sox. Disgusting.

There isn't a team in baseball that wouldn't love to have Santana on their staff. It is all going to come down to what the Twins feel is the best offer for their future, and that is going to have to include top prospects. If the Mariners are willing to part with a big hunk of their future for the present than I am sure the Twins will listen.

They were probably just seeing if they had a shot. No harm in that. I remember last season when Tony LaRussa inquired about the availability of Barry Bonds. I wanted to hurt TLR pretty badly at the time, but there's nothing wrong with testing the waters. That's all this is here.

The Mariners should give the Twins the bum Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre, another overpaid bum.
