Conservatives and the rich have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are.

Social capital (people sharing things) hurts profit. If guys share thier lawnmowers instead of each buying their own, it hurts sales. Ditto carpooling, etc.

What in the world are you trying to mouth? Why are you assuming conservatives are trying "to divide up the USA"? If this assumption is correct how are they doing it? Are they making the right lanes of highways off limits to liberals as a way of dividing the country? Learn some independent thinking. While you are at it stop demonizing conservatives.

People that insist on labeling human beings as conservative and liberal divide the country. If you consider yourself a conservative and are proud of that you are somewhat likely to blindly obey everything that your fellow conservatives say. Same thing for someone considering themself liberal. If that can stop and people can just go back to being people and stop bickering over who is right and who is wrong then maybe some good things will happen.

Strange, it was always accepted that it was the liberals who try to keep America divided.

See how wacky your premise sounds when it is reversed? You wont get far in trying to show up conservatives by being extreme. People will only point their fingers at you and laugh. Try being factual and not outrageous. If you are too extreme, you may even convince some undecided people to vote Republican. That is precisely what happened in the last 2 Presidential elections.

You've got it backwards. It is the liberals who are trying to divide America.

They are trying to force us to lose a war that we are winning.

They are trying to allow all of the illegals to stay, and give them federally funded benefits, while not doing anything about the new illegals coming in.

They are trying to turn us into a socialist state.

They are trying to scare us into doing what they want by threatening us with that BS global warming garbage.

The list goes on and on and on.

:), lets think this one through. I assume you mean political division, in that case there should be another side to the so called divide. I am assuming that the other side is the democratic party. So, what you are arguing is that the republican party is evil because it has a different political agenda from the democratic party and thus causes the divide?

Most conservatives are not trying to divide America. Neither are most liberals. Most of us just want what is best for our country. There are a few nasty and vocal people on each side who make everyone look bad, though.

Ha, like the class envy perpetuated by liberals. Or maybe like you libs who want those who are productive to be be responsible for social benefits. These things divide our country, sir.

I think the premise of your question is very wrong. The answer is no, they haven't, nor have they ever. The polarization across the world comes from extremists such as islamofacists, the jerk in Venezuela who is a left wing socalist, and our own left-wing socalists in this country all too eager to embrace the big-government politics of Hillary.
