I was just wondering if there is some program or something that you can use that would let you know if somebody is entering your name in a search engine and searching for you.

NO, not the way you are expecting...

First off, unless your nam is exceedingly rare, how could Google guarantee the person meant to searh for YOU and not someone else with your same name.
So there's an immediate reliability issue with reporting this information to a single person.

Secondily, Google would have to track each individual query no matter how in frequent it was searched. Something I'm sure they actually do. Only Google would have this data, so they would have to allow everyone direct access to their data in order to search thru it or to be notified when a term is searched on...something I don't think they would allow because it would be exploited by marketing firms for a huge profilt , I'm sure.

Google does however have a Trending tool -- http://www.google.com/trends which allows businesses and the general public to look up how popular certain search terms are, thus allowing company's to target advertisements towards these search terms.
From what I understand, Google only shows trends for search terms that are popular.

Your name would have to be popular enough that that it became a 'trend' that showed up on Google's radar screen.
Britney Spears is probably searched for frequently enough to show up as a trend, while your next door neighbor probably doesn't rank high enough to be worth reporting on.

To Test this,.....I typed my name into Google's Trending tool and it told me that their were not enough queries to display the results.

So while Google DOES keep track of all search terms typed into their site to some degree, it's not in a format that you and I can use to see or be notified when someone types in our name.
