I don't think that I have a disorder, its just that I don't know how to start a conversation or what to say after.

practice practice practice

There's nothing better for social awkwardness then just getting out there, watching how others do it, and emulating that.

you could just be an introvert (I'm one, and believe me.. this can be a problem)

You can either put yourself out there and just learn "scripts" to start conversation (I was in a job that forced me to do this.. it works for a while)

or

You can accept two things... 1: That this just isn't your personality and you'll never be great at it

and

2: that you aren't responsible for the entire conversation... if there is a lull and lack of talking.. the other person is at just as much fault as you are. So there's really no reason to stress about it.

dont worry about it. I cant do it either, but then again I dont care becasue I hate society. There are people who come along and we talk one on one and its great. Just talk to people you feel comfortable with and dont worry about trying to talk to people who make you uncomfortable. If you do want to help yourself then try saying Hi to people throughouit the day and work from there.

Try talking to yourself in the mirror. It may sound stupid but it might help.
