Wigs .... good or bad expirences? Can you wear without feeling conscience of it? How many girls wear them?

The only wigs I've ever worn are ones out for Halloween, though one is a better one. Even through my real hair, I've found them to be quite itchy and sometimes extreme hot. I'm sure better quality wigs would be easier to wear. I'm sure if you wore them all the time you would eventually get used to the feeling and not notice any more.
