7. He was assassinated before he had a chance to implement a lot of what he wanted to do, but he did set the goal of landing a man on the moon but the end of the decade. He gave us a vision to strive to attain. He also handled the Cuban Missile Crisis very well, he kept his head, when others around him were losing their cool. He was the first Dem to cut taxes as well.

About a 3. he was not president long enough to carry out some of the programs he started. I do not think he should have involved his brother in his office and all the hype about him was more or less a fantasy as Jackie said later in her life.
Today he would have been run out of office with all the medication he took and the women he had but back then the Press protected him.Money bought allot of protection from the truth.

I'd give him a 3. JFK was a poor president. His errors in judgement almost led us into a nuclear war with the USSR over Fidel Castro's Cuban revolution,, and also got us entangled in Viet Nam.

He was in constant pain, and the strong medications he was injected with daily affected his thinking.

He was a good man, a brave man, but a poor president.

What did he truly do. The biggest thing that happened was the Cuban missiles. He took our missiles out of Turkey so Russia back off. He could make a good speech but that is all that he did in office was talk. LBJ did 99% of any thing people think JFK did.

A 2, he had the failed bay of pigs invasion and he generally was pretty corrupt. Appointed a lot of friends of his to government positions, didn't really do much, allegations of cheating in elections. Cheated on his wife for Marilyn Monroe. Can't say I think he did much. He was perceived as popular, that's the only reason people liked him.

2-3 : Bay of Pigs was a fiasco, he was instrumental in getting us into Vietnam, he appointed family (RFK) rather than the most qualified, he got crosswise with the mob and organized labor in a BIG way.

4.

To his defense, he never really had enough time in office to make a truly lasting impression. However, he did almost get us into a nuclear encounter, and he let his brother basically run amok at Justice.

2. Got us into Nam big time and almost into a nuclear war with the Soviets. Bailed on the anti Castro freedom fighters at The Bay of Pigs and let them be slaughtered. Cheated on his family with a series of bimbos.

It's hard to give JFK's presidency any kind of rating he wasn't around long enough to achieve much, thanks to the powers that had him killed.
