Since feminists seem to suggest that an accusation of rape essentially equates to (or at least heavily favors the) guilt of the accused, does that mean that Bill Clinton is a rapist? He was, after all, accused of rape by Juanita Broaddrick. Personally, I am willing to take his history into account (something feminists condemn when referring to the accusers) and believe that he may very well be one.

reddevilbloodymary: I said numerous times that the history of a woman's willingness is entirely relevant to a specific claim (in the lack of physical evidence) or her unwillingness. That is entirely relevant to her claims.

Libby anne: The question I posed pertained to cases where physical evidence was lacking and it was reduced to a case of he-said/she-said. As such, feminists aregued that a man is essentially guilty of rape if accused of rape (the question regarding the young boy who's trist accused him of rape made me think of this). As such, it stands to reason that Bill Clinton is a rapist. Note that this allegedly occurred during a period that feminists claim was frought with unreported rapes. Broaddarick also had supporting witnesses and is even a lifelong Democrat.

reddevilbloodymary: You fundamentally changed what I said to suit your needs. I said that a woman who has said "yes" often is less likely to say "no" in the future. But besides that, in this very question I stated that Bill Clinton's past behavior (namely sexual aggression directed towards women in numerous cases) does indeed lend a great deal of credibility to Broaddrrick's claim. I never said it's a one-way street.

Libby anne: So then no rape cases go unreported? Why are you condemning somebody who made a claim of rape when earlier you criticized me for saying such claims should be examined closely?

There's an old cliche' that goes like this; great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, and small minds discuss people. The Bill Clinton as rapist gossip is the product of a collective mind that twice elected George Bush Jr.

If a person is accused of rape that does not mean the person is a rapist it means that the person will be investigated and put on trial if enough evidence is found to support a claim of rape. In the case of Broaddrick and Clinton the case had much more to it then just a “he said, she said” and legal action, civil or criminal, was ever brought against Clinton. So to answer your question is Bill Clinton a rapist, no he is not. His sexual history is not relevant because if a man who has sex (oral or otherwise) with an intern does not make him a rapist… otherwise there would be way more politicians in prison.
EDIT: Actually your question was about Bill Clinton and being a life long democrat does not mean a person is more or less likely to accuse someone of rape. In the Juanita Broaddrick case she had recanted her story several times and her (or Bill’s) sexual history was not taken into account because there was never a trial. If you have a particular situation that is weighing heavily on your mind perhaps you should post that case rather then jumping around and making unintelligible claims and assumptions.
EDIT (yet again): "So then no rape cases go unreported?" Where did I suggest that? Of course rape cases go unreported.
"Why are you condemning somebody who made a claim of rape when earlier you criticized me for saying such claims should be examined closely?" What? Who am I condemning? I said Clinton was not a rapist because allegations and media frenzy are not a substitute for an actual trial. Stick the facts and what people actually say rather than building straw men arguments that are ridiculous and obvious.

From my perspective, if anyone considers themselves a rape victim, yes, they deserve support, and they have the right to accuse their rapist. Whether society proves it or not, anyone has the right to consider someone a rapist. I have no idea if Bill Clinton is a rapist, or if GW Bush is, but I definitely believe anyone should have the right to accuse them, if they believe they were raped by them.

Bill Clinton has never been convicted of rape, so I have no "opinion" on it one way or the other. The rest of what you said is sheer nonsense, and an ad hominen attack on feminism. Since when do feminists see an accusation as "essentially equating guilt of the accused"? Care to provide some proof?

No, No, No Raj, you are twisting words. No one said not to take history into account, in fact, many agreed that a person's credibility should be examined, as in, have they lied in the past or falsely accused others of a crime before.
You SAID being promiscuous was the same as being an UN-CREDIBLE witness, the same as lying, nobody else even attempted to make that connection.
You argue like Mike T.

Libby, please show where Juanita Broaddrick ever recanted her story?. I can not find it anywhere. Why didn't the feminist support Broaddrick?. Feminism is nothing but a political organization who support or condemn along party lines.
EDIT: RIO -please show some links were her story was discredited. She never stated she could prove that it happened, only that it did.

Do you even know what Sandra fluke was really talking about? Or do you believe anything Limburger says? He neglected to mention that Sandra was testifying about her friend who was denied birth control she needed it in order to stop ovarian cysts from growing. NOT his Viagra fueled perverted thoughts.

Broaddrick's claim has been authoritatively discredited, and based on who the story came from (American Spectator, etc.), we never believed it, anyway. His "history" consists of a consensual one-night stand with Gennifer Flowers, a consensual affair with Monica Lewinsky, and, as far as anyone knows, nothing more.
