Way back when, I'd spend the day playing with my ham radio (before cable TV or FM radio or Internet).
The challenge would be what to do on a Snowday when the electricity, cable and/or Internet connection go off.

Clean house, read a book, if you can get out of your home-do some volunteer work. Write letters
to love ones and friends. Take a good long nap.

Go sledding! Unless it's very cold and windy. In that case get out your craft stuff and make ornaments or other holiday items for your friends when you go back to work or school tomorrow!
