I hired someone to film our wedding and gave them a $2,000 deposit. They never showed and they moved and their phone is disconnected. How do I get my money back?

Take them to small claims and sue for the money that you gave them for the deposit. The court will have them served by a Marshall and if you win you can put a lean on any property they have and have a wage assignment on any money they make or tax returns they might receive.

i would suggest hiring a lawyer, or if it's worth the money, possibly a private investigator. or you could always go to the police and they could steer you in the right direction. hope you find them!
