I think the plural is mouses but not all agree

its mouses..........its not like your ever going to say, " oh yeah, if you want i have a whole grip of mice, in case you want one".......mice are living things bro.

The OED likely *USED TO* insist upon "mice", but the goal of a word is *communication*, so we must think, "What will be most likely to ring a bell with the listener?" The answer, methinks, is "mouses." And, as has been done with other words, the OED evolves with "mice" to allow for "mouses".

Thats one of those words that people just try not to pluralize as it is confusing and nothing sounds right anyway. ( sort of like the word beer)

I would have to say mouses would be the closer match.

That is a hotly contested question in the IT (computer support) world. Enough so that a few years back we reached a compromise amoung the techs I work with. We borrow a word from the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and refer to more than one mouse as "meeses". (LOL)
