The Morning After Pill (or Plan B) is a hormone based pill taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex to PREVENT pregancy. The Abortion Pill (Mifipristone, RU-486) is a pill taken after a women is already pregnant as an alternative to a traditinal abortion.

I have been seeing many posters in here tell young teenage girls not to take the Morning After Pill because they will be aborting their baby. This is simply not true. The morning after pill is a way to PREVENT unwanted pregancy after the fact.

Besides, if you are a mother I would hope you understand that implantation does not occur right after sex, it can take days. Which is why the Morning After pill must be taken within 72 hours...

I am well aware this is not really a question...I just see a lot of young, confused girls in here, and I thought they would see the headline and read my statement and know that they have other options.

Maybe you should try posting this a little later in the day.. I think a lot of teens, at least in the US would be at school at this time. I didn't know there was a difference in the two. Good to know.

i agree 100%. If the morning after pill was the same as the abortion pill then You would be seeing the misscarriage of the baby come out! but that doesn't happen! These 2 pills are 2 different products!!!!

I do not agree with abortion not one bit..but the morning after pill is ok in my opinion as long as it was taken within the time allowed. it does not cause harm to a baby as there is not one to kill..

Why not encourage these idiots to use protection during sex?
Or to even stop having sex if they aren't prepared for the consequences.
