'On every question of construction (of the Constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.' 12 Jun 1823 (The complete Jefferson p23.)

Perhaps the Americans school systems could have more Constitutional education.

No we should not. This country was founded on certain basic principles that too many people have forgotten about. Our founding fathers were very wise men. We have the most democratic nation in the world and it would be unintelligent to change our cornerstone-the Constitution.

The constitution is fine, although I would add "sexual orientation" to the Civil Rights Act, alongside "race, creed, color, national origin, or religion"

Edit: We need a Bill of Rights because the 10 commandments condemns freedom of speech and religion (honor the sabbath, worship only god, worship no false idols, do not speak the lord's name in vain).

No, nothing wrong with the one we have now. All we need is for the government to follow it, and the Courts not to pretend the best way to interpret it is to try to pretend they know what the framers were thinking 200 years ago.

First I'd worry about drawing up a "Bill of Duties and Responsibilities" BEFORE I crafted the "Bill of Rights."
