If so, why?

I wouldn't really consider Wolfmother "heavy". I mean stuff similar to Killswitch Engage.

I had a few names in mind but as an "older" person, but senility has greatly diminished by capacity. But I still have some.

A Perfect Circle
She Wants Revenge
The Birthday Massacre
Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Aha Jakex, I told you I was senile! Yes, we could throw BLB in the ring too. That album rocks. Thanks.

I guess you did say the word "heavy." Add these bands.

Slipknot
Stone Sour
Mudvayne
Lamb of God
Lacuna Coil

No Jake, sorry. I have never heard a Metal band that was up to snuff since the 90's
Alice In Chains was (as of now) the end to Me.

The only four 21st Century bands I give a whit for are
Coldplay
Wolfmother
Porcupine Tree
Evanescence
All are quite a ways from Metal

HaHa, solid question. i might %. Daft Punk, for the two their track and their costumes. the top effect might probable be like a go between "The Day the Earth Stood nevertheless" (or some 50's sci-fi B action picture) and the bit in "lower back to the destiny" the place he performs Jonnie B. Goode. i do no longer comprehend if the individuals lower back then might dance or run for his or her lives. LOL!! Sarah C: Wowo certainly!! i'm no longer able to have self assurance my ears (or eyes, i assume). Jonas Brothers??!!?!?

I'm not sure if you would count the Mars Volta, but I think they're really great. Francis the Mute in particular is a really fantastic album.

One of the best and heaviest bands will always be Pantera.
and you still have Old School Metallica, White Zombie,
Another I listen to is a lesser known band , but have a very loyal following is Iced Earth, I listen to alot of their older stuff with Mathew Barlow, One of their best is Alive in Athens,
and they have a greatest hits double cd called The Blessed & The Damned. Excellent stuff.

LOL...awesome!

You know that the heaviest current band for me is the Deftones, Jake. And I really dig the 20th century heavier stuff like "Adrenaline" and "Around The Fur".

You're probably looking for stuff much heavier than this, though...sorry.

Edit: YES!!! :)

The only sort-of-recent 'heavy' band for me is :~
Type O Negative

But they started in the 1990's, so don't really count.

Tool, A perfect circle , Manson, Nine Inch Nails ..... is that heavy? ;)

Why... music is where I live, and these bands say something. They don't whine either. I freaking hate whiners.
