There is no military solution in Iraq. Even our top generals in charge of Iraq admit as much. We have already won the battle for Iraq. Victory can only be achieved by a political settlement, when the Iraqi government stands up and, takes responsibility for their own security will that be accomplished. However, so far the Iraqi's have failed to do so. It is beyond time to drawback and, allow the Iraqi government to stand or, fall on it's own.

Well, first off, we can win this war. Why can't we? Unless our army is in danger of being completely destroyed (and they aren't) we can't lose. The only way we lose is if we turn tail and run. This is ironic, because everyone that says we lost or can't win wants to turn and run, making their prophecy come true. The truth is you guys don't get your way and insist you've already gotten it in an effort to get it, very backwards logic if you ask me.
We win when the Iraqi government says they don't need us anymore, they can take over from here. By all indications this is happening, but it's not taking place overnight. It won't be done next week, or next month, probably not next year. But nobody ever said that winning has an expiration date. If it takes awhile but we still win, that's still a win regardless.

Interesting question. I'd be happy to answer it if you could define 'win' with respect to World War II. After all, we're still in Germany, Italy and Japan. Is it because we haven't yet won there? Did you know that up until 2005 we had more troops in Germany (170,000) than we had in both Afghanastan and Iraq combined?
You see, as a conservative, we've been brought up to recognize that 'simple' isn't always so simple. That bumper stickers aren't sufficient to the problems. Often they're a little more involved.

Win in Iraq appears to equate to:
- Lying to invade their country
- Hanging their leader
- Spending $2 trillion
- Losing 4000 US soldiers lives
- Injuring 30,000 US soldiers
- Killing 300,000+ Iraqis
- Allowing OBL to escape
- Allowing the Taliban to flourish
- Allowing poppy fields to fund 40% of ALL terrorists attacks
- Bankrupting America
- Turning US allies against the US
- Exposing US CIA agents
- Devaluing the US dollar
- Increasing the costs of oil
- Making Haliburton record profits
But hey, only 718 Iraqis were killed last month so apparently neo-cons consider this a victory.

We have won, according to the Neocons, if we have established a firm and stable democracy in Iraq that can successfully maintain its homeland security and keep terrorism at a minimum. We are defeated the insurgents and domestic violence.

We got saddam, we got his sons, we established elections, we won.
Right now we are pinning on secondary objectives just to remain there for some reason at the cost of 1 billion dollars every 3 days. A big chunk of that cost is nation building.

the President said "Mission Accomplished" so that's about does it. Maybe he should ask the families of the dead and wounded after this statement to see if the mission was accomplished.

It is not a war. It is an invasion/occupation. That hasn't been totally achieved yet. Though we got the embassey built damn quick.
