I don't know enough about the massacre to suggest a specific sentence, but begin something like this: "On March 16, 1968, _____ civilians in the village of My Lai, South Vietnam, were killed by American troops under the command of _____. The main reason for this massacre was [or "seems to have been"] ______________." (You're the one doing the research!)
