That Christmas is a time where we forget about our problems, and just enjoy being around each other. To remember that Christmas is not about the gift giving or receiving.
It's Time for Remebrince of those who we have lost and the ones that are currently over seas.
It's a Time for being there for another, being polite, and kind to one another.
It's a Time to help those in need of love, or a blanket, or food.
It the Time of the year to remember that Jesus was born to show us light and to teach us what we can be if we can just take the time to look within ourselves to see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
My husband's family is from Mexico and we celebrate Christmas on the 24th instead of the 25th. We do not believe in giving presidents but sing a songs and hitting a pinata and give out small bags of candy to each person who comes. In Mexico they families of the community travel to each person's house to sing and if they have a pinata then the kids get to try and hit it. We also get to drink hot cider (something silmiar) or coffee, and some cookies. We also light off firewords and sparklers in the celebration of Jesus' birth. Because this is the night about the birth of Jesus not about receiving gifts.

I think parents need to teach children the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Everybody complains how commercial it is or how they don't have enough money. Well, train your children early not to expect big things at Christmas.I have a friend who has been doing just that. She bakes a cake to celebrate Jesus' birthday on Christmas eve. On Christmas day, her two kids only get two presents each..one of clothing and one of a game or toy. They use Christmas day as family time to sled, play games, bake cookies and create lasting memories. The presents won't last.

Not to forget what the true meaning of Christmas is & I know that doesn't mean I'm "high & mighty" & "ignorant" as someone just pointed out. It's not about "bonuses" or how many gifts a person is going to get. I was raised in a home where I was taught the true meaning of Christmas. Those who weren't, shouldn't insult those who are. I'll just consider the source.

The most important think is remembering that christmas is Jesus' birthday....or at least thats the day chosen to rememver about Jesus' birthday.....but a lot of people dont care =(.. During these days we should not get carried away having too much fun with presents, and fun, but take the time to think about Jesus. And make him happy.
...and of course its also important to buy presents for your family and friends, so they wount get mad. =) lol and have fun spending your time with family and friends, and showing love!!!

Going to Christmas eve service and seeing and hearing all the children of all ages singing, praising Christ. We have some very talented adult musicians. The music is beautiful.

Its such a good time to communicate with family and old friends. I really like sending letters to old pals, and receiving them, looking at the pix they send of their grandkids or their travels. And its nice to get together with our friends and children for a meal and good conversation. I think Christmas can be enjoyed on many levels, but those are the best parts for me.
