One animal that I think would be an interesting pet would be a liger or a tigon. These animals actually exist. A liger is the hybrid of a tigress mother and a lion father. A tigon is the hybrid of a lioness mother and tiger father. Both look like interesting animals.
Not sure what I'd call either if I could have either for a pet, but I'm sure I'd think of something at some point

A hummingbird and a dog -- I'd call him buzz.
A squirrel and a cat. They would be combined using glue, and I'd call it squirrelcat.

I would combine a dog with a bird. Then after I take it for a walk, my doggy can fly me places!
