ppl who r saying that the Christians arent going through any hardships are dead wrong and they know it. this is a general statement of course, im not saying all Muslims hate Coptics (the Egyptian Christians, and im one of them) but u do have some major hate problems in Egypt. the Christians are getting beaten, tortured, killed, raped, and forced to convert. i really dont care if i get thumbed down, because u really cant sweep everything under the rug, the truth has to be known. but again im telling u not all Muslims are like that, but Egypt has a big problem. i live in America and we have nothing like that here mostly...i can honestly say that almost half of my friends are Muslim and i dont see them as Muslim, or Christian, or Jewish, i see them as the friend i love, cherish, and appreciate, and i will never hate them. we respect each others religion and we like to learn about each others religion. i personally on Ramadan go around making sure that my Muslim friends dont curse when theyr fasting and i eat atayif at home and i even have a big Ramadan lantern at home. also when my friends are fasting i make sure not to offer them food by accident. they respect me equally when im fasting and thats the way it should be, love and peace and tolerating differences, but its not like that in Egypt at all even though Egypt was a Christian country until the Arab Conquest. thats why Copts say theyre not arabs. but in the end, we are all Egyptians and should learn to love each other.

i dont mean to offend anyone but the truth is the truth, maybe not where u live in Egypt but dont tell me its not there, but i know i dont have that kind of hate in my heart, i LOVE EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF DIFFERENCES!

God bless=)

Well there are a lot of mosques but then it is a Muslim country with 90% being Muslim so that's to be expected. When i was in Cairo for a few days i saw quite a lot of churches and i only saw a really small area of Cairo.

I have heard both sides that Muslims and Christians get on well but i have also seen what Christians have been through on you tube have a look there and you will see.

I think it's a tough question as not all Christians will receive bad treatment and it's not all the Muslims being against Christianity it is a small amount of both Christians and Muslims.

Yes, the Coptic Christians are still headquartered in Egypt. Its not a major part of the Christian religion, but it is a big holdover from the Gnostic Faith of many years ago. Alexandria has quite a few Coptic Churches and large following there. I have a good friend that says the discrimination by the Muslims is severe and the treatment has been harsh in the past.

The Muslims burnt most of churches down, with the Coptic Christians being confined to ghetto-like neighborhoods and Christians are shot everyday in Egypt. The Christians in Egypt are dying out.

FALSE...With capital F..If you are greek you should have known that no arabic country ever harmed the christians, and especially Egypt has received them, especially the greek comunity. For this reason there are so many churches as Saint George, respected by Egyptians, and the Orthodox Patriarcate in Alexandria for so many Centuries, recently, inaugurated also the library in Alexandria..
Egyptians kept always the best relations with greeks, and the greeks from Egypt, apart the fact that the distinguish fotr their class and nobility, they speak always with tears about Egypt. One of them is also my mother, )i am greek as you know)who is greek from the greek comunity of Egypt, and who always repeats me that when Egypt had theatres, cinemas, and it was the Paris of Mediterranean sea, other countries were not developped..
Egyptians have always been very tolerating to all religions, as all the arabs too, and in all arabic countries except of Saudia, and it is natural because there it is a holy place for muslims, there are churches made by Europeans, and they are respected and conservated...
I dont attack you, i m just informing you that if you ask any greek of Egypt, he ll say to you the best...

the truth is that moslems are about 90% of the population, so there are more mosques than churches.
however , there are more churches than needed all over the country.
christians celebrate their feasts and there are publuc holidays on both moslem and christian feasts.
there is equality between both . however i can say that christians are interested in big and small projects, and merchandise . so they have more cash and property .
one copt owns a tv channel in which he can air his views freely . he is a billionaire bec he has good brains .
so, when you look at the scene, you will find good distribution of wealth, posts, and political leadership.
