CARACAS, Venezuela — Humbled by his first electoral defeat ever, President Hugo Chavez said Monday he may have been too ambitious in asking voters to let him stand indefinitely for re-election and endorse a huge leap to a socialist state.

Yes.

Remember she's the socialist who said she'd take all of the PRIVATE oil companies' profits away from them. She has ZERO respect for PRIVATE property.

I predict that not only will Hillary NOT be elected President, but that she will also NOT win the Dem presidential nomination.

Note how her polling numbers are not exactly flying...more like plummeting. :)

I truly hope that it won't take Hillary getting into office, delivering on her campaign promises to take from the producers of our nation "for the common good" and finally erasing our Constitution before the left and some "middle-of-the-roaders" wake up and say, "Gee, maybe electing her wasn't such a hot idea after all." The Venezuelans got lucky insomuch as maybe they woke up in the nick of time to prevent an all-out dictatorship. Unfortunately, I have a feeling somehow old Hugo is going to find a way to get the end of term-limits imposed after all.

BTW, did anyone hear how hard it is to get a liter of milk in that country these days? With their billions of oil revenues, milk is next to impossible to find due to socialist tactics like price controls. Maybe that's off topic, but it frosts me that so many in our country want to copy that.

If Ronald Reagan himself had asked for unlimited terms in office, I would not have supported it.

The Who's immortal line, "Meet the new boss.
Same as the old boss." defines the problem. Even the best leader gets stale in a position of power. He becomes less effective, and starts to assume that the power he has been granted is really his to relinquish, not a temporary gift from the public.

A lot fewer people are duped by Hillary than the press would like us to believe. Even a lot of her supporters concede she isn't exactly of stellar character. What's good about this admission is that no one will ever trust her enough to give her the kind of power Hugo seeks.

Well she gets around term limits by working for 2 terms under her husbands name,... At this Chavez is honest enough to say he want to be president for life....
....I respect him more the Hilary as you know he is going to take your stuff,
Clinton has a redistribution agenda and that is her motivation...and it won't be taking from billionaires, it will be me and you!

Comparing Hillary to Hugo, are Ya?

Would it be possible for you to make the effort to find your enemies somewhere...outside...the US instead of making pathetically obviously, Party driven, mantra supporting, verbal attacks on citizens of the United States?

Did you not get enough name calling in elementary school?

Do you think the Republican Party needs help assassinating the character of its opponents? Character assassination is, after all, their only contribution to our process. They were trained by the Newtie and they paid attention in class.

Do you , in spite of the evidence, consider yourself capable of genuine character assassination on a leading American Politician?

I realize that politicians do not have the best reputation, and, deservedly so but, constantly attacking another American for your party is questionable behavior at best and sheep-like behavior personified.

Maybe you could write something about Al Qaida, or tell us something we don't know about Hugo.

There must be some enemy of the American People who could serve as misdirection for the Bush "Administration"!

Come on...you can think of someone.

Try it. Thinking...hummmmm.

Most of us already are! Then again even the Russians knew Pravda was propaganda and Americans seem to believe all the lies in the newspapers.

Uh, I hate to tell you this, but the election was about removing term limits on the Venezuelan presidency, not about 21st century socialism. You are making much more of this than it really was.

We (USA) had no term limits on our presidency for most of our history. Did that make us Socialist?
