I think the Democrats would, but maybe that's because I'm kind of liberal. It seems to me that the Republican party uses negative advertising to try and turn people off to the political process.

Probably the Democrats. Personally, I'd just as soon that those that don't feel a civic urge to vote stay home on election day. If voting isn't important to them, I doubt that they are very informed as to the issues and candidates anyway.

All parties would benefit from more voter participation. But girl! you have much to learn about the political parties and which benefits the people and which benefits the party. All parties use negative advertising. What do Republicans stand for? Thinking on your own? Advance through your own efforts?Educate your self so you can better understand? Be self sufficient instead of letting the government control you fron the cradle to the grave?

The right answer cannot be determined from your question; we'd need to know what the breakdown of this voter participation was. Are we talking lower class or upper class? Minorities? Do these voters have liberal or conservative values? Perhaps because you're liberal you think their are more of them, but in truth their's a lot from both parties in all sectors of the population. People of the same political persuasions also do tend to frequent the same places.

There are more potential democrats out there then there are republicans. The apathy within the system comes from the left. I've found that Conservatives are far more involved in all areas of the political process
