I just got a Dish network HD DVR and i hooked up an external hard drive?

Question

I have a smaller external hard drive hooked up but i was just given an bigger one that i would rather use to save my movies so i hooked it up to my computer hoping to transfer the movies onto my new hard drive so i can use the smaller one to store computer files but when its hooked up i cant see anything on the hard drive is there any program that i can use for this? or am i going to have to live with losing all of my movies if i want to use the larger drive?

Although there is a port for an External HDD, the Dish DVR 522 doesn't support External HDD.
