I am aware of the work you are doing on the depravity scale. I have NEVER understood placing different "values" on human life dependent upon age, sex, occupation, etc. Killing a human is killing a human. All equally reprehensible.

I assume this is a "assisted suicide" vs. "abortion" question.

So I'll say this. The killing of one human being by another human being simple for the reason of "convince" is beyond morally outrageous.

The killing of any person is a major thing. Taking a human life is not something that many people can bear.

The worst part of all of this is those who do assist in such practices are sworn to "do no harm" to their patents. Yet they are killing someone. A child inside the whom is still a child. A old man in a comma is still a man.

If all life is sacred the "ALL" life is sacred. you can't pick and choose to your convince.

*edit just saw spell check lol, damn grammar Nazis

Well, assuming neither of them are trying to kill you...
10 and 8, respectively.

Depends a lot on the situation...did the elderly person ask you to do it? Have they been in a coma for the past 20 years and have shown no signs of coming out of it? Have they just had an arm cut off in a bar fight, 30 miles from the nearest paramedic?

Anyway, an elderly person is much more likely to have accepted death, whether or not they actually wish it to happen.

To kill a child without just cause would be a "10"- assuming the child really is a child.

To kill an elderly person- such as one who has alzehimers, bedridden, confused, it might be mercifull to "put them down"

HOWEVER- having said that, the bible says 'You shall not murder"- so, its also a "10" of things not to do.

No need for a scale because taking away any person's life will always be evil.

Killing a child - 11!!!
Killing an elderly person - 11!!!
Why are you asking such questions, are you planning on commiting a homicide? If you are, then DON'T!!!

Thats a stupid question!! Both are equally evil. Ever heard of Thou shall not kill? It doesnt say oh well its not as bad if you kill someone of a certian age group!

A question as stupid as this reflects on the mentality of the questioner and deserves no consideration whatsoever. Probably will be deleted before I can post my answer.

Kid=10
Elderly=7
Kids are at the beginning of life, elderly closer to the end. Wrong to kill either.
