Since NASDAQ has several locations, including NY, and is totally electronic, it would seem to be the exchange of choice if 1/100 of a second mattered.

my guess would also be nasdaq - I have a few stocks, and they all have performed well. mutual funds are too iffy for me

I'm not sure but Dad had me invest $15,000.00 in mutual funds & they kept losing money so I got out with a little over $5,000.00 left.
