being treated for an Aneurysm , it hasn't ruptured so they're doing surgery to prevent it, anyone on here had a family member or friend go through this?

I'll definitely say many prayers for her! Two of my mom's friends have had Aneurysms & they are both still alive & well. One of them does have slight brain damage but it is because hers ruptured & caused complications. I wish you & your family all the luck you need right now! ((((hugs))))

Hey I know where you are coming from, my family and friends acted so weirded out when I came home from the psych ward. They tried to act very fake-happy, almost overly happy if you know what I mean? I would have to ask what your sister's diagnosis and treatment was like before I could really say how to react to the situation. I mean was she violent or did she simply just attempt suicide? I would if I were you try and do something nice for your sister when she comes home, something simple as giving her a hug and telling her how much you missed her being around would be a great place to start. How about suggesting a family dinner to welcome her back into the fold, nothing special, just everyone sitting down together and enjoying the company so to speak. Again don't go too overboard though as any falsehood in your actions will likely make your sister feel like she is inferior and alienated (I know because that happened to me). How about also finding out some information about your sister's issues and letting her know that? Trust me, it can go a long long way to know a family member has actually taken the time to research the issues and how to cope and prevent relapses from occurring. I am sure she will be happy to know she has your support and knows that you care about her. Other than that, just act normal around her. I know you say she is like a bomb waiting to go off, but acting false around her could just trigger her off further. Depending on her situation she may already be feeling mistrustful and perhaps a little paranoid of what others think of her anyway. Hugs and tender loving care will probably see you through. Best of luck, I hope your sister doesn't relapse and manages to stay out of hospital from now on.

I'm sorry, but no, none of my friends or family members have had that.
I will pray for you and your family, I hope it goes well.
When you visit your sister at the hospital, just be with her, maybe even get her some balloons or a teddy bear from the hospital gift shop. I'm sure she'll appreciate it, and she will like having her brother by her side.

I sure will do that right now and don't worry because surgeons deal with those every day and she will be fine. Yes, I sat through 3 of those and all 3 recovered. God Bless You and Her. Going to do that.

I do pray she gets better.
Why don't you write her a card in the meantime. Its always nice to do something heartwarming for those that are in dire need of it. It makes the biggest difference in the world knowing you have someone that cares for you.
I hope all goes well.
