We are currently building a brand new distribution centre, and I would like to put forward a proposal to incorporate an in-house creche. However, having searched the web for the last two hours, I really don't know where to start. Does anyone have any idea who i should approach in the first instance for advice? Thanks

You're a great employee. Wasting two hours of your employers time surfing. Enjoy the salary cheque, don't feel quilty

You need to get in touch with Ofsted ( go to the Ofsted website) and explain to them, also contact your Local Early Years team and the council.
Ofsted will make a visit and work out the square footage of the building you intend to hold the creche. this will determine how many children you can have., Who ever is in charge will need to have a suitability person check, to make sure the are experienced and knowledgeable enough to run the creche. Your employer, will need to sort out insurance liability, suitably trained staff, their training, they will all require a full enhanced police check. all staff must have first aid training, food hygiene, health and safety and some basic child protection training, the person in charge should have further child protection training.
there are various other courses you can attend:- Brain Play under 3,s, safer manual handling, and the developing child to name but a few.
If you intend to run the creche under 2hours a day then you do not need to be ofsted registered
Hope this helps

You should go directly to your boss and make the suggestion and ask who to speak to about this. He will either direct you to the proper person, or direct it up to the next level and so on.
