Yes, because you can stand head high and proud to be a working person and not being seen as some benefit scrounger who does nothing to deserve what they get.

You will have confidence when people, ask you what you do, no more signing on every two weeks, it will give you pride, a better and more positive outlook on life and look at the social life you can gain.

It's almost christmas, think nights out with workmates, think parties, think about trebling your friends and social circle.

Working isn't just about money, it's about doing what's best for you emotionally as well as financially and taking a look at the bigger picture.

A step into employment will be a step into a much better life for you and your family.

Congratulations and very well done.

If you have children you are entitled to tax credits too which will also provide help with your rent and your council tax if your within a certain figure amount.

The best people to ask is a company called welfare rights - although they are in lancashire I dont know if they are throughout the UK. They can advise you on any benefits that you might be entitled to as well as working which will help you get through and pay the bills etc.

If you dont have one near you, get in touch with citizens advice and they will help you. They have a website which is included below :)

If all else fails, do try getting in touch with your local tax office or the inland revenue website. Any money that you are entitled too can only be back dated 3 months, so its better if you get things moving straight away.

Not really.
After you pay off your rent, council tax etc you've pretty much got the same amount of money in your pocket as you would have if you were on benefits. Unless of course you are being paid mega bucks per hour.

The people in charge are too greedy to pay you enough to live well with and life for many of us is a financial struggle . Working tho, will at least keep you out of mischief and will lead to a better path than hanging around bored all day with too much time on your hands.Good luck.

You'll have to do the sums, friend. Only you will know how much you will be losing against what you're gaining . . .

Though the biggest thing you'll be gaining is self-respect.
