Dry that region with paper towels or bathroom tissue and dispose of them.
Even wearing a tampon is sometimes not enough to prevent all leaks, especially when the shower or bath water dilutes any fluids that leak or are 'outside' the tampons protection.
Keeping a few small dark colored towels or cloths (which you would wash promptly in cold water to minimize stains) is also a good idea - depending on your access to laundry machines.

I have a bath on my period. I would say to you to that by the time youre out of the bath most of the blood will have washed away. My towels are white. I get out the bath, wrap a towel around me then sometimes depending on how lazy im feeling I use the hair dryer down their thus avoiding any bleeding. (not that it matters,a wash in the machine solves that problem) have your knickers and sanitary wear ready so that you can put them on asap.

Absolutely! A warm bath can help any cramps or lower back pain, and it's also relaxing! Additionally, this is the more important time to feel clean and fresh and you should take care of yourself! And yes, spicy food is fine - you may have acid reflux, though. Is this a cultural difference? I know that some places, women are forced to go off to 'menstrual huts' when they have their periods, aren't allowed to bathe, and have no contact with anyone other than other menstruating women because they're believed to be 'dirty.'

I don't use tampons, so what I do when I have my period and just got out of the bath or shower is quickly tear off a few sheets of bathroom tissue and kind of push them into my vulva. (I don't mean push it inside, I mean just kind of hope it holds in place, kind of stand with my legs together so it doesn't drop down.) Then I take my towel and dry quickly and then throw away the tissue and get dressed.

I have dark towels that I use. Unfortunately, go out and buy yourself some dark colored towels and you won't feel so bad when they get dirty. Or if you don't want to buy "body" towels just get dark colored wash cloths and dry your area with them when you're on your period, they are smaller to clean and won't take up too much room in your washing machine. I know, it sucks!

I will try to wash down there last, then I will already have a pair of underwear with a pad in them just outside the shower. I take a little bit of toilet paper, dry everything "down there" and then slip my underwear and pad on.
