Dell, HP, Gateway, Mac, Sony....or any other company you can think of?

Acer purchased Gateway. Fujitsu makes computers. Asus makes some nice computers. Panasonic makes some great 1.8 lbs laptops, too. Most of the rest are too hard to find in the U.S. to be worth the effort. All of the "manufacturers" you listed pretty much just assemble components someone else made. It's not like they're car companies. They don't print the circuit boards behind the assembly plant.

IBM is the best, but Dell is overall better when you compare cost/features.

dell are very easy to use but personally i would choose Sony

If "computer company" includes software, then Google, by far. They have the creative edge, as far as I can tell, and they even have a "green initiative" promoting research into hardware AND software: http://www.google.com/corporate/green/energy/index.html

If you mean, just "computers" proper, then my vote would go by the ol' standby, IBM (THIMK!) ...mainframes are "computers" too, ya know!

hp is a great company so is dell ,apple ,IBM
