Please show your source in the Portugal or any British lawbooks that shows that the McCanns legally neglected their children. They were not off the premises of the resort.

I'll bet you a dollar not one of you antis can provide that source.
Until then, please quit slandering the McCanns.

Not a pro or anti McCann, but here you go: http://www.nspcc.org.uk/HelpAndAdvice/WhatChildAbuse/Neglect/neglect_wda36377.html

Look at the last point of 'Possible signs of neglect'. They did frequently leave the children alone during the holiday (at least six times).

Scroll down to FAQs, and look at the fourth question. Answer from the NSPCC: 'Parents can be prosecuted for wilful neglect' "if the child is at risk of harm/injury", which those children were, which is obvious from what has happened (straight from the Children and Young Persons Act 1933), and "Babies should NEVER be left alone".

Do I get a dollar? ;)

EDIT: Skidoo, I don't want to argue with you, but please read the "Babies should never be left alone" bit, it also says 'not even for short periods of time'. Look what happened in that half an hour; a child went missing. God only knows what else could have happened in those 30 minutes (the kids could find bleach, put their fingers in electrical sockets, the list goes on). It takes a matter of seconds to take a child, especially when the child is alone, because there is nobody there to protect said child. Look at Jane Tanner. She left her child (who had just been sick) to go back to dinner. What if the child had choked on its own vomit 5 minutes later? The McCanns have learnt this the hard way, and I'm sure they won't leave the kids alone again.

It's not about law in Portugal or the UK... it's about good parental common sense. They had none, and that is not against the law. But... they had none . They had a previous history of this same type of behavior, and it finally caught up to them. If it had not happened in Portugal, it would have happened somewhere else. It was just their time. Neglectful parents can expect a family tragedy.
