Some people know my worst side and do not believe I can ever do something good, others think I'm all cute and sweet and won't do anything bad. And IT gets frustrating because I've got a big desire to prove all of them WRONG!

Does it mean I'm insane?

I AM being yourself but for some reason all I get is a one-sided opinion...

It took me many years to realize that I don't have to accept anyone else's labels for me and I can make of myself whatever I want. Those that love you will love you no matter what. Those that despise you will love to hate you no matter what good you do in the world.

Live the way you want to be and have no thought for anyone else. Your friends will fall in line with who you are when you do that because you will draw like minded people to you that way.

You're not insane, you're just self-conscious about other people's feelings about you. Trust me, being a teenager is full of that.. What I had to learn was:

1. Let them think of you however they want. 99% of the people that think bad of you only think that because its:
a) a rumor
b) you might have hurt their feelings in some way
c) the way you act (body language!!!)

2. If they think wrong of you, then who cares?? I bet some of the people you are speaking of aren't even close friends. Well, they can't be, cause close friends should know you well enough, and if htey don't then they aren't close friends :P.

3. You shouldn't have to prove yourself. BUT, what you could do to make you seem more friendly, say hello, and smile when you pass by someone.

I'm sure you're a sweet person, you just gotta show it! Good luck!

No it does not mean you're insane. I think it might be the environment that you were in that caused some behavioral changes. I think that's the same with me. Some people only know a nice side while others see a bad side and think only what they want to think. It's frustrating and when you try to convince them otherwise, they don't believe you. Don't try to prove them wrong, just let them think what they want to. Best thing is, is to just act natural and ignore what people say around you.

While your occupied with what others think, You are not growing.
I would suggest to you finding a goal , making an accomplishment. You don't have to do a triathlon competition but you do need to have your own accomplishments that you can feel good about. The greatest achievers were too occupied to worry about others thoughts. So , Unless your worried about making yourself into some social clone, set yourself a course and lead on. Or be a sheep. Besides if you pulled off their masks and saw the truth ,I doubt you would care how they thought.

Of course not!
Silly girl! Its impossible for all people to see you as one way! What matters most is what you think of your self. If you are pleased with the person you are, then why should any one else matter?
Besides, i always thought it was slightly fun when there were people who thought something completely the opposite of what you are and the extreme of what you are. I get the same reactions that you get. Don't sweat it, its normal. Just continue to be yourself.

lol no not insane. Sometimes it does bother me but I guess I got over it. The only person I can really think of who only knows one side of me is my Grandmother. lol. I smoke, drink, do stupid things and she refuses to accept the idea that I do any of that. In her mind I am the perfect angel who does nothing wrong. But I guess a lot of parents and grandparents are like that. I have a good friend who knows everything about me and its funny. We get together and laugh about the stupid things I have done in my life. =)

Um...I never really gave a damn if people knew just one side of me, because I don't tend to care what people think. And I agree with the person who said that it's hard for a lot of people to know more than one side of you.

Hell no, I feel the exact same way. People I met online know my bad side well, but people in real life I know think I would never do anything bad ever, haha little do they know about me. On the outside, I am a goody tussues type person, the inside I have crazy thoughts about killing the people that did wrong to me in the past and I hate and want revenge towards.

I know exactly how you feel babygirl. Don't sweat it. As long as you know who you are, that's all that matters. I realize that behind that sweet smile and seal there is a story, not all is good, and not all is bad. You are not insane. Just be who you need to be for the situation, and leave it up to them how to interpret that.
