the 25 million peoples whose data was on the two disks that are missing. Shouldn't the heads in high places roll for such an error ie: Government officials, ministers and the like? And if any criminal acivtity comes of this "mishap" as the Government say it is, why can't the people who suffer sue? My mates wife is in shock because of this letter, which says they "apologise".
Well for all of those whose details is lost, I think an apology is not good enough..These people in Government get bloody well paid, and it looks to me like they are not worth the money!
They say the banks know an any "errors" will remburst, But what of the hassle plus this should not have happened in the first place. Isn't peoples personal data like gold to the criminals? Plus the fact I read on Sky News this morning that such data can be bought for the little as £1 on the internet..no wonder cyber crime is so big in this world..Do You think the people responsible, should still have their jobs? I don't!

How about this, nobody on the face of the planet can do any better. It's NOT going to happen. Let's say a batter hits 3.5 out of 10 shots, that right there is an incredible feat. Look, he may be accurate in his 30% success rate being a "hero", but basketball is not 100% and neither is soccer. How many attempts at the goal are made each game? Not only the batting average, but what about the talent of the pitcher who keeps an ERA below 3. He's not going to do that by allowing every batter to hit a fat one. The games would be a basketball score then. Boring.

No, they shouldn't still have their jobs. They're not 'fit for purpose'.

Don't know how much money they saved by not sending the discs by secure messenger, but I'll bet it wasn't half as much as the cost of sending out 25 million of those letters.
