You don't say how many weeks you are, or if this is your first pregnancy or not. But it is very normal to have those kinds of pains. It comes from the stretching of the uterus, and can feel as though your period is coming on. I would worry if the pains are very bad, and you find they are getting worse. I would just have a word with your doctor, and see what she has to say about it, and whether you might just need to get checked. If any bleeding starts, I would go right to A&E
Chances are, everything is just fine, and your bump is doing great. So I would just relax and enjoy your pregnancy, because soon you won't have any chance to relax ;)

Yes for me getting a sharp period like pain was normal in the beginning of my pregnancy. I wasnt even aware I was pregnant at first because I kept getting these pains thinking that it was going to come any day now. Its just your body getting used to being pregnant (horomones, liagament stretching, implantation, ect.) The only time you should be worried is if this is followed by cramping and heavy bleeding.

I've been having the same types of pains. It feels like I'm getting my period and I get really worried and then it just goes away. I'll be 12 weeks on Friday. I went to the doctor last week and asked him about it. He said it's normal and as long as there is no bleeding not to worry.

Yes you can, and it's generally normal. Expecially in your second trimester with what they call round ligament pain, i'm 15 weeks pregnant and have had this on and off for a couple of weeks, and my doctor said it was completely normal. However if it is accompinied by vaginal bleeding you should probably call your doctor right away, no matter how far along you are that could show signs of a problem. Best of luck!

Yes and especially with the first pregnancy. The uterus/womb is expanding it's shape and size to accommodate the baby.
Really bad cramps/pains, with traces of blood, are signs to see the doctor or go to the ER room.
If you're concerned, call your doctor.

Yes, it is the uterus getting ready. Anything painful should be investigated and also any bleeding although brown spotting is quite normal as well.
