I think it is okay to have an occasional drink while pregnant. I didn't realize I was pregnant at first and I drank then. Of course, I didn't once I found out until the 8th month and even then it was only a half a glass now and then. My good friend was pregnant when I was and she was just a big ball of stress over every little thing. Her Dr. actually told her to have a half a glass of wine just to relax because stress can be harder on the baby than a few sips of wine. Nursing makes it a little harder. You can while you are nursing but she will have to time it right. For example, nurse then have a glass of wine immediately afterwards. Once the baby starts going longer in between nursings, it gets easier. Like when the baby goes to sleep at night, she could have more than one drink if the baby will sleep for 5 hours. My Dr and Pedi. always told me if I felt drunk, I should not nurse...and that makes perfect sense. But...if she is uncomfortable with it, there is no reason to pressure her.

It's very common to have people drink, not knowing that they're pregnant. You're not meant to have alcohol or caffeine, but the caffeine bit is a bit.. well, more of a final development issue. You should really worry about caffeine during the middle of the second trimester all the way to the end (unless you're attempting to hurry on the labor).
Uhhh. Anyways. Yes, it's not good.. BUT. You're probably fine. ESPECIALLY if you're young, which is a likelihood from the redbull/vodka combo. Problems in development are found less often with young mothers- and infant alcohol syndrome is from continuous use.
So. Stop being BAD, but you're probably fine. :)

My husband and I were in Wine Country when I was pregnant and didn't know it. I drank more that week than I ever had in my life, although I never got drunk. My doctor said the odds of something affecting the baby at that point were very small, nature is self-protective that way. He said the most important thing the first month is folic acid! Luckily I take vitamins so that was not an issue.
Daughter is 12 and a straight-A student.
Good luck!

do not worry, many women drink before finding out they are pregnant. IN regards to the alcohol, some countries, like france allow women to drink 1/2glass to a glass of wine during pregnancy. So some alcohol will not hurt your fetus, however, if you got extremely wasted that might be more dangerous.
Caffeine is not good, but once again, that is in extreme qualaties, most of my coffee drinking friends still indulged in a starbucks and red bull here and there. I hate coffee so i never did. But i have had some wine here and there.

I drank at six weeks with my daughter and everything was fine. i didn't know I was pregnant and it was something of a bender. be a lot more concerned about alcohol and the effects that it has then the effects of caffeine. Everything should be fine, but lay off the alcohol completely and cut don on the red bull.

I'd be more worried about the vodka than the caffeine (a little caffeine is ok). But even so, you're probably fine. I had a few drinks before I found out I was pregnant and my little one is just fine.

I'm sure your fine. I didn't find out I was pregnant till the 6th week and a few days before I knew I guzzled down 6 margaritas at a party. All my blood work and ultrasounds have came out fine. Try to stick with water and decaffeinated beverages now though.
Good Luck!

I'm sure you will be fine.
A lot of women drink before finding out they are pregnant.
The important thing is that you don't drink any more from now on, and go easy on the caffeine.
If you haven't already started taking prenatal vitamins, start taking those right away.
Congratulations!

If i were u i would stop the drinking. because u would never know if it would harm the baby. the baby might come out having some sort of sickness. So slow down on the red bull, beer, wine, or any other alcholic stuff.
