It seems that there are way more important things to think about over the "holidays"/"Christmas" like finding ways to give back, spend time with loved ones, be generous and get into the spirit of things. I don't really mind when someone says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" -- To me, it's just nice to get into the spirit of this time of year. Say whatever makes you happy.

well, considering a lot of the people I serve at work do not celebrate Christmas, I feel more comfortable with Happy Holidays (unless I know for sure they are Jewish or Christian and then i would say Happy Chanukah or Merry Christmas). Especially as a retail employee I am not going to go out of my way to ostracize any of my customers.

I used to work at a store where someone got in trouble because she answered the phone and said (by mistake) "Thank you for calling ______, merry Christmas to you". She was supposed to say "happy holidays"instead. I mean, that's just ridiculous.
I have NEVER heard of anyone who was offended by "merry Christmas".
It's ridiculous!!
I always say Merry Christmas.

I'm THRILLED. There are so many wonderful winter celebrations - what a caring way to include them all. Instead of creating a 'great divide' we are united as one caring community - we embrace the true sentiment of the holiday season by expressing DIVINE love and respect rather than HUMAN exclusivity. If you are Christian and are feeling sad about not saying "merry christmas" just remember the true meaning of Christ's birth - love, good cheer, and peace to ALL

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE.

you do not sense "undesirable" for a guy that's making 17 million funds a 365 days. you are going to be able to desire to sense ashamed that he has never been waiting to hold a team deep into the playoffs, yet that's absolute to take place to a pair stars who're in the incorrect place on the incorrect time. seem at George Gervin, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Tracy McGrady, and Dominique Wilkins. they're all great gamers who've in no way looked in an NBA Finals, yet all of them have legacies. Carmelo is 28 so he isn't too previous to start up construction a legacy and making himself a memorable participant. He merely gained the scoring identify, so if he can win yet another scoring identify or 2, his loss of playoff achievement would be neglected somewhat much less. with any luck each and every of the bashing he's getting will inspire him to propel the Knicks to a great greater advantageous season next 365 days, and that he follows up the ideal season of his occupation with a great greater advantageous one.

I don't think it's bad.. there are other people with other holidays celebrated around Christmastime.. so it's become more appropriate to say Happy Holidays in public places. I think it's a good way to include all people.. not just Christians. I say Merry Christmas to friends and family always.

All things change, except death and taxes. Personally, as a non-Christian (I'm probably going to get some "thumbs down" here just for THAT), I don't have a problem with the "new trend"; I say "Happy Holidays", myself. But you can feel free to keep using the traditional phrase, if you like. I'm not one to dictate to others what they can or can't say. And this is America, land of the semi-free...

Yes, I don't even get it! If you don't celebrate Christmas what's the point in saying "Happy Holidays?" There is not another holiday on Dec. 25. What about people that don't celebrate Halloween? Do we say Happy Holiday then too?

Do not feel bad about it at all.
What does buying things for people have to do with Christ?

Ask a random little kid oh say 5-6 years old what is Christmas (ask 10 kids this age), see what they say.
