coming from the person whose avatar is wearing a mask...

generally speaking, because i know specific people who don't, people hide behind masks because of pressure. Pressure to be this, not be that, do this, don't do this... And most people want to be this, not be that, do this, and not do this, but they fail at the emotions. The remorse, or remorselessness, the love, the charmingness....

The mask represents the "gray" area of one's existence that one does not wish others to percieve. Those who wear no mask are generally despised for having the courage and integrity to be themselves. This makes others either jealous; or it makes them angry that anyone would have the "ego" (the balls, so to speak) to refrain from wearing a mask.
The black-and-white of those who wear no masks makes the others face their own lack of egoistic confidence in their integrity.

not all people do. But some do because they are afraid that no one will like the person behind the mask.

There is a book written by in the late sixties or early seventies. It is called, "Why am I afraid to tell you who I am."

The answer with great detail is that "if I tell you who I am, and you do not like that me, what have I got.":

Your outbreak is very sad. It sounds like someone does not feel loved, and need to lash out. Good luck and I wish you happiness.
