I would try to force the Pats to beat me with the run game. I would have dimes, nickels, quarters defenses in. I would mix of my Blitzes, use a lot of zone blitzes most likely. And I would turn Big Ben loose. It seems the Pats had difficullties with all the different receivers the Eagles had. The Steelers have much better receivers than the Eagles. I would also make sure that if the Pats are going to be me, they are going to do it without Wes Welker.
Timlin a smart guy, I think he can get it done. I also think the league sleeps on Ben, because when he needs to or want to he can have a 300+, 4TD game (and I am a Bears fan).

Very hard question to answer because you have no idea how new england is planning to come out. You always want to try and keep randy moss in check somehow and get pressure on brady. New England may come out in a spread 5 wide which takes blitzing away, or at least makes it very difficult because then you almost have to go man to man and there are quite a few dangerous recievers in New England's 5 wide package. New England might line up in 2 tight end sets and run, although they havent done a lot of that in recent weeks, it doesn't mean they wont do it.
On offense the steelers have to try and score in any way they can. New England uses a lot of blitz packages, but against the steelers offensive line it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't blitz as much because the steelers line hasn't done a very good job all season. Ben has to make the right reads, and he isn't very smart.
I cant see the steelers being able to win this game unless New England plays really poorly.

Putting pressure on Brady seems to be the key. Unfortunately, none of the 2007 NFL teams have the defense to do that. Maybe the best defensive teams from the Steel Curtain Era could have done that but we all know that's not the Steelers defensive team nowadays.
Hopefully my Ravens will soften up the Pats for a Steelers victory next Sunday. I hate the Steelers but I hate the Pats even more.

Play four quarters of football. From what I see, all they would need to do is focus on clock management. I hate the Steelers with a passion BUT what I will say for them is that they know how to convert third downs. This will keep the ball in the hands of Roethlisberger and away from Brady/Moss connection. Play man coverage and have the safety soft cover Moss. This forces the Pats to the running game, which to my knowledge doesn't exist. And lay heavy pressure on 2nd downs (since this is when I see him air it out the most). Blitz during this down. Brady will have to dump it off to his tight ends which aren't as explosive. Philly did great when they could beat the defensive ends. Get the leaner speedier guys at the left side. It seems to be where Brady is the most blind.
It's definitely a game I'll be watching!

Pressure New England quarterback, he doesn't play well when he gets rattled, play physical man coverage, especially with Moss, he's a great receiver, but he's soft, he doesn't like taking a hit, and most of all learn from the Colts and Eagles game, but FINISH the job. The Steelers have to play ALL 60 minutes, and, heaven help us, if the Steelers can get a lead in the fourth quarter, DO NOT go to that prevent defense rubbish, play like the did against the Bungles and finish it out.
That's my 2 for 2.

I would blitz 6-9 guys every play and use the other guys to stop quick slants and fades. Make them run the ball.
Offensively I would run the ball constantly until they're not thinking of pass then I would go play action a couple times. Later I would put a play action middle screen play towards the end of the game. They have to establish the run.

ummmmm......... we need better blockers up front!! so practice all week with that and hit up long passes instead of screens! defensive um... blitz blitz bltz! and do it fast and effectively because they will pass and run!!! be ready for screens to moss and blitzs from brushski and other middle linebacker. Tomlin needs to focus on these key concepts

keep with traditional Steelers football
slow tempo pound the run control the clock - steelers O-line is not very good
whatever happens dont get caught up in a high scoring track meet -Pats will blow them out if that happens

****Typical Pats fans answering a question that says nothing about them..You were asking what would you do if you were Tomlin..they cannot contain themselves and are going to be upset here real soon..****.
play your game..the Pats are going to play a hurry-up which will make Tomlin put his best 11 on the field defensively..I'd blitz Harrison 8-9 times and try to punish Brady..
hopefully it won't be wet..and Parker can be a compliment to Ben..all Pittsburgh has to do is show up hungry and hit like they have been hitting.,.those Jets and Zona loses mean diddly when it comes to a match-up like next week's
Hines Ward...baby...in the endzone for 6
(from a Skin's fan w/ nothing to be happy about)
