You don't; you'll have to do it purely by the keyboard. This means to open up the start menu you will need to use the "windows" key (between the left ctrl and alt) and use enter to open programs. Use tab to switch between sections on a screen and alt+tab to switch between programs.

your best bet is to borrow a mouse from another computer until you can buy another one. there are a range of keyboard shortcuts you can use to do certain things. apart from there there is no other way to move the mouse pointer apart from with a mouse as far as i know.

I`m sure you must have tried un-plugging the mouse and then plugging back in again. Worth a try
