Drug tests I can understand, but our company has schedule our entire group for hearing tests. Yes, it's a factory location, but we all work in an office, no excessive noise. One person who has taken it says they make you fill out a detailed questionaire which includes non-job related questions. This seems like an unnecessary invasion of privacy to me. I'm sure that the company is just trying to cover itself in case of lawsuits, etc. Not that they really care about our well-being. Should we refuse, or just give in and take the tests?

Its an OSHA requirement. You're not going to lose your job if you do have a hearing loss. Your company needs a baseline and annual tests...look at it like its a physical. Just take the stupid test, its painless and takes less than 5 minutes.

They may bve doing you a favor. Suppose you do have a hearing problem? Something can be done about it.
Maybe someone does consider the noise level exessive. Maybe OSHA coited them for noise level. There may be facts you are unaware of. Just take the test.

That's what you get when you "trust the marketplace" as Bush and his cronies have been selling for years. You're just another commodity to management. They own you. Period. If they wanted you to work in your underwear, what recourse do you have?

Union? Conservatives killed them.
Courts? Conservatives run them.
Government? Conservatives ruined it.

Face it. You're an indentured servant.

Get your hearing tested independently of the ''office exam''...two benefits : you know the status of your ears, and you tell the office person ''No, thanks - I already had my hearing tested."
