So my operation is this Friday and i am nervous and excited at the same time cos i waited for this moment for a very long time.
I need some advise from woman who has been through all of this. It will be my first surgery ever and i want too know what to expect afterwards when waking up. Also tell me what i can do to get the swelling and bruising down quick and make my recovery fast.
Please tell me your experiences and also where i can buy the best recovery garments (bra's) for my new breast.
thanks so much

I had this surgery about 5 years ago and I am so happy that I did. I love it! The most important thing to remember is that your breast will not change...only the size. My doctor told me that if you breast are ugly, after the surgery they will be "big and ugly". If they sag...they will be "big and saggy". Etc... Some women think that getting them bigger will change the appearance and it does not. I loved my breasts before surgery and really love them now.
The pain was pretty intense. It felt like an elephant was standing on my chest. Take your pain meds and do not miss any doses! Keep wrapped up tight and just get a comfy bra from Mervyns.
Good Luck and enjoy!

Wow I wish that you could be happy with your b cups as I was. I am a pretty petite girl and I recently went from being a b cup to a c cup from my birth control pills. The only thing that grew were my breast in a month or so. I was happier with my b's but I am adjusting to my c's whether I want them or not. By the way no surgery just new bras. Whatever you do good luck. Check out some of the testimonials from other women and men who have gone through this. Also ask your plastic surgeon for his portfolio so that you know what his work looks like.

Modern techniques and procedures have come along way in reducing pain in this surgery, but there will be some. It could be like a truck parked on your chest, but, you would have no way of knowing how that feels.
Your doctor will advise on how to recover and what steps to ensure a successful outcome,...it is very important to follow those recommendations to the letter. Usually following your surgery and during recovery you will be given a special support bra to keep you still and immobilize the possible jiggle that happens. You will be removing it to wash and it can be laundered and reused. Generally a sports bra does the same thing, but get it large enough to fit the new you...
Good Luck,...

You should get maternity bras. They are really supporting. Really, I suggest not going under the muscle. so they can go through the nipple and you won't have the scar. I have 4 sisters that have implants. 3 did the under muscle and 1 did regular and my mom did too. They all look the same and that's added pain you don't need and your scar can be concealed around the nipple. It will hurt after waking up. Expect to rest the next 2 days. You start feeling better about 3 days after. Take your pain medicine like clockwork. Lay in bed. Don't keep unwrapping them and showing people. Don't do a lot of lifting for about 2 weeks. Take it easy.

my friend had her boobs done and she was told that she should wear a support bra, like a sports bra but not too tight for the first 2 months, even in bed.
she said when she woke up if felt like someone had kicked her in the chest and she was bandaged quite a bit. she had a drain in each side so the fluid didnt build up and they were taken out the next day which she said really was not pleasent but it felt better when they were removed.
arnica gel is meant to be very good for healing and sorting out swelling.
my friend came out of hospital on the 2nd day and went back after a week for the stitiches to be sorted out. she also said that liftingher arms avoe her head was unfomfortable for a while as the skin was tight.
good luck hope you are happy with the result.

People dying of starvation in Africa with no clean clothes or fresh water...and people like you are spending money on breast implants. I'm sure you are just trying to do something you feel you've wanted for a long time and you deserve it but this is what's wrong with society, eveyrone is so focused on themselves. Women are always putting themselves in comparison with someone else and can never accept themselve for who they are...we always have to be pointing out some flaw. You will just find something new to be insecure about after youre surgery.
