Growing up, I was always hearing people asking others if they had worms if they had a healthy appetite. Is that an old wive's tale or something? If not, why is the person eating more? To replace nutrients taken by the worms from the intestines?

there is a worm called a Tape Worm which can grow to 2ft and maybe bigger and if you have one of these then you will eat a lot more as it robs you of nutrients etc,and you will end up eventually losing weight and looking very ill, the small type of worm dont do much of a problem to you and can be treated very easily by your doctor

Its kinda da truth...

U see the worms inside us are parasitic & live in our small intestine. This means that sometimes they absorb some of the digested food that passes through our small intestine, which can make us more hungry....

in case you have worms you do consume greater. The worms on your physique stay off the meals and so on from the nutrition which you consume, so which you eventually finally end up feeling much greater hungry than regularly occurring, ensuing in an stronger intake of nutrition.

I think the worms eat the food that you ingest, so you have to eat more to make up for it. I vaguely remember that from Anatomy class...
