It is the baseless arguing...the assumption of things or the taking something out of context. If I am wrong, I will apologize, but if you tell me I said something when I did NOT say it, Then we will have many arguments WITHIN the argument. Sometimes, silence is golden as both sides get to reflect on the REAL issue and deal with it.

the fact that we are arguing would drive him mad, we tend not to raise voices in anger as that is when things get said that are not meant but are hurtful. Both of us have very hot tempers so we walk away and calm down, that's the only way we can get through it. Shouting and screaming just doesn't work for us at all.

Walking away or while arguing, making faces at things said.

First, very yummy indeed. Second, it is a combination of both. Chick hate to be ignored, but it is how we get away. Arguing is how you feel you get to resolution. The something else is that we come at the problem from different solution points.

It's arguing back.. When he doesn't argue with me that drives me nuts.. I can't keep my mouth shut though and it drives he crazy.. I say crap just to make him mad.. It might not be the right thing, but sometimes I think we all need a reaction!

I'll tell you what drive them crazy and that's when you refuse to back down and bring up **** that they did since the day they were born and it has nothing to do with what you're arguing about.

The silent treatment drives me up a wall.
When those arguments become one way, I adopt the scolding father condescension. That sends her over the edge.
Yes after 30+ years we know the buttons to push.

The crying. He can't take it when I cry, it makes him feel terrible that I'm upset so I always try to let him know crying is part of me expressing emotion it's not because he did anything wrong.

Sometimes they just argue with u coz they cant argue with the responsible of their frustrations...for example it can be his boss but he can not argue to his boss so he came and take it against u...so I would just say "why dont u dare to face ur real problems, fighting with me wont change ur situation a bit" at least not for the better...but can make it worse
so I always try to make people see what is their real problem, is not eithe intelligent to make them more upset...is wiser to be a good negotiator and give him peace of mind...then he will feel embarrased and will not bother u again
remind him u are always on his side and ask him not to be unfair with u
