banned are T-shirts because it has "pirates" on them and her reason it is represents a negative image for the school. Is this acceptable in any way and are their court rulings forbiding this type of Dictatorship behavior?

Just like there is a reason that the students are wearing them there is a reason the principle is banning them and yes the principle does have a right to ban offensive actions committed by students, your not telling the reason "pirate" t-shirts are being banned, who are they offending? or what violent act are they representing?

A principle has the obligation to insure order and the safety of all at a school function, be it a class, basketball game or anything else. So, this kind of dictatorial behavior is permissible. Believe me, school districts do have lawyers who tell a school district what is and what is not illegal.

Now I have a question for you. OK? Does the word " irresponsible" come to mind? It makes me think the actions of a few made it bad for all.

Principals have not only the right but the duty to do so. If fights break out in the student section or the shirts become inflammatory, some one will say she wasn't doing her job.

The question of free speech on campus had been litigated as recently as last year. While legitimate free speech is protected, other types of expression are not accorded the same amount of protection on school grounds as they would have elsewhere in society.

At my school are logos a boat so if the ref makes a bad call be yell out "blue ship" instead of bullsh*t and when the other team makes a bad pass we say "Hey nice pass" and at the end if we are winning towards the end we say " Warm the buses"
