A person who has a deeper level of perception, beyond sensory levels, or has been fairly convinced of such level would seek beyond the 'routine' life. Out of self-awareness, that person can easily see that life is not just about eating, sleeping, procreating etc. This 'seeking' from within, this thirst, to see what life is about would prompt a person to renounce worldly life. For such a person desires in material possession simply 'drops', and holds no temptation or attraction at all!

The one who is aware of the fact that his mission is beyond this world and that there is nothing but suffering here. That person suppresses his emotions and feelings and starts a life as a different person in a different world. Hence, the spiritual need to free the soul from the cycle of birth and rebirth prompts someone to renounce from this fake life and dive into the world of God!

in my opinion, a person who has duely paid his karma off will be inclined to renounce the world for a true sanyasin may have no more desires, and thus it puts an end to karmic cycle which automatically stops his birth cycle. hence God decides(blesses) when a person can become a sanyasin..
