God was born, as a concept in the minds of men, many millennia ago. His birth probably coincided closely with the emergence of the first homo sapiens. He was conceived primarily as a device used to assuage fears of the unknown, for coping with death, and later in our prehistoric past, to enforce morality and bring cohesion to primitive civilizations.
His evolution commenced with animism, and then progressed to pantheistic belief systems. Eventually God, acquired a distinction from nature, and thus polytheism was born. As time progressed further, and the power of societies began to be consolidated into fewer and fewer hands, God, in parallel with the societies in which he was worshipped, took on a more singular persona, and thus monotheism came into being.
As rationality started to make a resurgence during the Enlightenment period, he, as all irrational concepts do when scrutinized, started to die. What is left today of God is a shell of his former self; a creature completely denuded of mystery, potency, or qualities worth admiring. Only the credulous minds of many people keep him alive.

Quantum physicists and Theologins agree, although the phraseology is different. God and Energy being one and the same can neither be created or destroyed.
