All's I hear them yelling is "Bush sucks" and "Pull out of Iraq". I have not heard their solution or any alternatives to fight terrorism.

Democrats don't want to fight terrorists, they want to break bread with them.

Point a: Terrorism is crime. Damage to persons and their property. Treat it as crime and don't make it a political issue.

Point b: USA is not fighting terrorism in the middle east. I'd like to see evidence of that. Don't claim 9/11. The terrorist involved in the 9/11 attacks (according to the intelligence reports that the USA made public) were all saudis. I don't see troops fighting there.

Point c: It doesn't seem to be a smart use of resources. In the last 10 years, about 3000 US citizens died as a consequence of terrorist attacks. More than 3000 died to the war. One million died as a consequence of violent crimes in US territory EACH YEAR during that same period. I don't remember the number but probably is around the hundred thousands that die on the roads each year (from US government statistics). How much is being applied to fight terrorism (including as many deaths as the terrorism itself caused) and how much to the other problems? Is this an efficient way to manage resources? Is this really about fighting terrorism or it's just another political move appealing to the fear and sentiments of the US population?

I'll tell you what's the solution. Take the power out of the government and start solving your problems yourself. First you as a person, stop depending on government care and protection. Then as a community, work on the immediate problems around you. Then as a bigger community, find ways to live with others around you. USA is now a "powerful" country meaning a powerful government with guns and a weak population producing to support that. Be free and you'll be a powerful nation, one with powerful citizens.

Terrorism and the region in Iraq have not got any link. regrettably Iraq replaced right into a mundane dictatorship which replaced into an enemy of the terrorist which we are combating. as quickly as we bumped off Saddam, we opened the door for worldwide places like Syria and Iran, which help radical militant terrorist communities like those disrupting the compelled democratic technique in Iraq at present. Terrorism would not have roots in Iraq, so no remember if we pull out or stay, it ought to have little consequence on no remember if terrorism exists. If we ought to attempt to remedy the priority, we ought to handle it. The war in Iraq could in all probability be reassessed to end no remember if this is available to attain the targets of the Bush administration. one by one the war on terrorism could be examined lower back to confirm if we are focused on the actually sources of those terrorist threats. there is not any concern-free answer. Neither Republican or Democrat is possibly to return up with the respond. we ought to paintings jointly and re-study the region continually. Terrorist communities continually substitute targets and technique. So could we. interior the tip however, we could stay vigilant and confirm we do no succumb to concern and alter the way we are residing and the freedoms we delight in. If we do, they win.

If you believe we're fighting terrorism in Iraq you're simply incorrect. We may be fighting individual terrorists, but we are expanding and growing the overall category of global terrorism daily. Our own soldiers commit atrocities as do our private citizens (Blackwater), and the war has become a rallying cry for al-Qaeda. Since 9/11 it has tripled in size, so how are we fighting terror? You're obviously afraid, and encouraged to be by your government, so how are the terrorists not winning?

The only people I hear telling me to be afraid are the terrorists themselves and the White House, and people like you.

"Terrorism is down all across the world." No it isn't. You're either lying or ignorant. Either Bush or you made that up.

So here's the alternative: a strong border defense, maybe with, say, the thousands of troops we can pull out of Iraq etc. There is no 9-11/Saddam link and people like you who assume there is perpetuate the sort of ignorant warmongering that is getting my friends killed over in the sand.

Lashing out in fear doesn't make you tough, and fighting for peace doesn't make you a coward. I hope someday you will learn this.

We could try actually fighting terrorism. Find Bin Ladin. Make America safe (9/11 recommendations). Quit overstretching our military on non-terrorist war (military says 5% of insurgency in Iraq is Al Qaeda)

Iraq is a DISTRACTION from the war on terror. Bush's own NIE says there are more terrorists now, more terrorist cells, more terrorist in the US. and we are no safer that before 9/11. This is Bush's intelligence agencies.

Iraq was about making money for Bush's corporate pals and campaign donors. Let's get serious about terrorism. .

But we are NOT fighting "terrorists" in Iraq. We are merely combatting INSURGENTS that we created with our Invasion.

Our best recourse for fighting/preventing terrorism is:

1) Political Demeanor - we need to change the way in which we deal with the Israeli-Palestine issue and other activities in the greater Middle East.

2) Infiltrating terrorist networks via operatives

3) Increasing domestic security and developing more cooperation with international law enforcement.

4) Finding a means to wean ourselves from foreign oil

We can't invade the entirety of the Muslim world, thus, military options should NOT be the focus of this goal

To actually use the money to fight terrorism and not just saying we are. Can you say, protect OUR country. The money can be used to impliment all of the 9/11 commitee recommendations. By being in Iraq, we we unintentionally breeding a new generation of American haters. We need our resources here at home, not in some country who do not even want us there.

letting other countries solve their own problems, so terrorism isn't as much of a problem.
for the remaining problem using intelligence and counter terror operations that do not result in guerrilla warfare.
Didn't take a war to shut down the middle east nuclear arms black market, that was run by a Pakistani physicist.

If you haven't noticed, we aren't really fighting terrorists, we are fighting their pawns, that are doing their dirty work.
If you want to fight terrorists, you use Intel, find out where they are and you kill them the same way they kill other people...by strapping a bomb under their yacht.
If we catch one of the actual terrorists, you suspend them over a hog pin while asking them questions. after you get all the info they know, you drop them still bound into the pin, and cam-cord what happens, and post it on a jihad website, to let them all know what is in their future if they wish to follow in his footsteps.
water boarding is unreliable, and only gives them talking points to recruit more.

Use our troops to defend our own country against terrorists and illegal immigration.

Last but not least, use diplomacy and get all the members of the UN security council to commit to quit supplying them with weapons ans financial resources.

Terrorism is a method of fighting used for centuries by people who feel oppressed by others, usually more powerful. The terrorists use terror to frighten people as they don't have adequate weaponry to do real physical damage other than an occasional booby trap or hit and run raid. If one looks back in history and learns about vandals, visigoths and thugs he would know about terrorists and how they operate.

In the case of the current unpleasantness in Iraq we are considered infidels on their sacred land. They are going to defend that sacred land with all they have and any means they can. Since they are not a disciplined army with lots of arms of many varieties they use the age old method of terrorism to attempt to accomplish their goal. As we find the Iraqi government more able to fend for themselves (we should give them a deadline to finally be able to go it alone) than we have no longer any reason to be in Iraq. The radicals employing terrorism have withdrawn for awhile and have lost some of the support of the Sunis that they used to count on.

By leaving the sacred land to those who own it and go back where we came from we can stop the radicals from using terror tactics against us as the reason for doing so in the first place would no longer exist.

I hope this helps you understand reality and gets past the propaganda put out by the jingoists and war mongers who want you to feel scared, that some bad old terrorist is going to jump out from behind a rock and go boo!

Well considering that state department reports show that the war is creating more terrorist than destroying (because it is used as a recruitment tool), then pulling out of Iraq should do more to fight the spread of terrorism than the actual war itself.

I've always thought that we should stay the course in Afghanistan.
We should have enlisted the help of other countries in squashing Al Qeada.
We should never have wasted lives and resources in Iraq.
Bush Sr. knew this. So did Colin Powell and many others.
