I have a few friends that are gay and that are lesbian, and I admit, before I met them I was pretty close-minded about the whole thing. I was pretty much against the whole idea of homosexuality and believed that people were meant to procreate. But now that some of my closest friends are gay, I think otherwise.

I think it's the case that the people who still bash gays/lesbians don't really know any on a friendly level to begin with! It's like me hating red-haired people even if I haven't met one before. (This is not true. I love red-haired people, too)

You have a good point...I was raised with different cultures and people who had different lifestyles so never gave much thought to ones sexual preference. My hubby on the other hand was freaked out by gay men until we moved into a house and we had a landlord that had a boyfriend. He got to know the both of them and to this day he has not bashed another gay couple.

yeah I notice that too...but ppl who aren't usually around a certain group of ppl tend to bash them...like I know a girl who live in a small town with mostly white ppl and her and her friends always "believe" the neg. stereotype about black or hispanic/latino ppl
but I don't bash gays/lesbians/bisexuals...I just don't agree with the lifestyle... ihave a few friends who are gay/bi

I think it is because, sadly, they will often refuse to get to know let alone become friends with Homosexuals because they either extremely disprove, or fear, or both.
And if they find out their friend is a Homosexual after they have established trust, this can result in the basher feeling that they have been betrayed or deceived and so their hatred or disapproval or fear, just deepens further.
And therefore their opinions never change.

I do not waste my time noticing or thinking about people who bash gays, lesbians, and other non-heterosexuals.

Neither should you.

Unless you are doing something about it.

I don't know any gay people myself, but I don't gay bash, because people should live THEIR own life as THEY want, it's not up to me to judge no ones sex life

You make an excellent point. Gays are just like everyone else. What consenting adults do in their private time is no one's business. I'm a Christian. 2D
