Yes. Since Reaganomics what came down to wealth distribution from the bottom to the top The US is a paradise for the wealthy and the middle class is struggling.
The poor don't have it as great as is suggested here. Poor and average citizens are definitely better of in Western Europe.

The average poverty level person in the U.S. has a car, two T.V.'s, clothing, shelter and sustenance.
I'm not saying life is easy for those with lesser incomes, but compared to the world poverty, it's pretty good.
I'd say even the lower income people get plenty of benefits from living in the U.S.
Later note: I have definitely been poor in America. I didn't have two T.V.'s then (I'm just going by statistics when I state that. Not everyone, of course, has two t.v.'s) but I didn't starve, either. There were shelters where I could get a free or cheap meal and a place to sleep and, if I chose, there were food stamps, government rehabilitation programs and so on . . . I might also add that, while I again state that this is not always the case, I was in that situation by my own making.

Considering that our poverty in most nations would be classified as average or above average, and our average in most nations would be classified as wealthy. I would say yes our wealthy does get more benefits, but it's that way even in the less fortunate countries. But the difference is that our poverty gets far more benefits then our average income gets. The worst level to be in here in America is the Average Income level.

classism is the real cause of social disorders, not racism, sexism, et cetera. they just distract us from the real issue.
only people who are rich claim that money can't buy happiness. when you're poor, happiness is measured by how far away from your door the wolf is.
people who claim "the poor in america have two tv's and a car" have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, and I doubt they've ever been poor, in America or anywhere else.
