Scan confirms pregnancy but the heart beat has not started yet. It has been 47 days since I missed periods now. How late can the heart beat of foetus start?

Sometimes they can't detect it right away.
My doc couldn't find the heartbeat at my 6 week ultrasound, but found it at 7 weeks.
Relax.

I dont know what really to say on this other than something may be wrong. if you check the site below it says at 22 days the heart begins to beat. So as for you I am not sure that would only make the fetus 3 weeks along(22 days) so if you are 47 days close to 8 weeks along by now if there isnt a heart beat something unfortunately is wrong. ANd if that was a dr doing this ultrasound then they arent doing their job correctly,or have miss informed you. I would check again with the dr and see if they can check again or give you news that you may not want to hear. Sorry if this info upsets you in any way just giving you the info that I have found online. Hope for the best for you.

So, you're about six weeks pregnant then? This is about the time when a heartbeat can be detected. At five and a half weeks, scan couldn't even confirm pregnancy, at seven and a half weeks scan confirmed pregnancy and baby had a heart rate of 170. I'm sure all is well!!!

Congrats on the baby!!!

If you are trying to listen to the heart beat with a device at home, you most likely won't be able to hear it until you are much futher along. With a vaginal exam they can see the heart beat about 8 to 10 weeks. If it's with the device your doctor uses, my doctor didn't use it until 12 weeks on me. Hang in there and be patient. Good luck.

the baby's heart starts to beat at 12 weeks- I think. it might be later, so you've got at least 37 days left.

you're fine, dont worry!!! the doc would tell you if there is anything wrong, but if you're really worried, go ask him. i am posotive its fine, as i recently studied this at school, and im sure of got the time right!!!

I'm not 100% on that. I do know that it usually begins at about 24 days though.
