the members of congress and the prez all have universal healthcare.
we will eventually have it, but not in our lifetime
addition:
I get a kick out of all these idiots who actually dont want cheap healthcare. Sure, your taxes may go up, but who cares if it means you wont be financially reuined for getting sick.

"Universal Health care" is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
It is NOT THE JOB of government to provide things of that nature to people in a FREE SOCIETY!
In a FREE SOCIETY, and FREE MARKET, people get their own products & services.
*IF ANYTHING, health care should not go beyond a state. Each state has its own needs, and implementing a state health care system (for each state) would best suit its communities. FEDERAL health care is a disaster waiting to happen. Each state is too different to assume 1 power can administer to all. Then consider the 50 - 80 cents of each dollar wasted when the federal government gets its hands on money.

Why so bent on Universal Health Care? It's not going to be entirely 'free'... the money has to come from somewhere.
Taxes, imported goods, increased cost of exports - somewhere something is going to take a hit for that and most people will not like it.
Democrats in general support it - but its very hotly contested because it reeks of socialism.
I'll be casting my lot in with Fred Thompson.

Well i was in Cuba and they have GREAT health cover so just vote communist and be much better off !
The current system in USA is not at all democratic.
Hillary was bought off by drug and insurance firms buy hell, she is a heck of a lot better than Bush.
THREATEN to vote communist, then they will seriously consider universal health care.
For an easy life, emigrate to a country with free universal health care " Please select:
Cuba
Canada
France
UK
Germany
Scandinavia
They're all much better than USA !

I just saw Sicko the other day...
Excellent movie.
Socialized medicine is the way to go !
It works for fire departments
It works for the us postal service
It works for the library
It works for schools
Why not healthcare ?
It sadening to know that if someone has a heart attack they can lose their house, their retirement, their possessions..... the system we have consistently adds insult to injury and rewards the insurance companies.
The system we have is designed to keep people from getting care, by allowing insurance to deny anyone for any reason. It's sickening...
Richard Nixon is to thank for the HMO's.... nuff said.

I hope not.
If you're forming opinions based on the rantings of a Michael Moore, Rush Limbaugh or whomever, you're nothing but a nose ringed sheep. Learn something for yourself.

I pray every day that it never happens.
There is no such thing as "free" healthcare.
Healthcare is expensive no matter who is paying for it, and if the government takes over, "we" still pay for it in the form of higher taxes on our incomes.
Why would you trust a government that pays $900.00 for a hammer to pay for things that are already expensive--like CAT scans, medicines and hospital stays? They'd pay 5 times too much, and charge it to your children in the deficit.
